Emulation/Gameplay

Can I play P3F at 60 FPS?

Sorry, no. The game's speed is tied to the framerate, so running the game at 60 FPS makes everything move at double speed.

You might find a "60 FPS patch" for P3F online, but it will have many movement and animation errors.

But the PCSX2 window says the game is running at 60 FPS!

That's not a question, but I'm happy to explain.

The game window is actually refreshing 60 times every second, but P3F shows each frame for two refresh cycles. The end result is an effective 30 FPS.

For this reason, you should see Game: 30 FPS next to Video: 60 FPS in the status bar.

Can I fast-forward event scenes?

The fast-forward feature wasn't added to the Persona series until Persona 4 Golden, but we can speed through events with the power of emulation!

  • Fast

    • Hold the button mapped to Triangle to instantly skip dialogue.

  • Super Fast

    • Press the Tab key or hold the right trigger on your controller to enable PCSX2's Turbo mode, then hold the button mapped to Triangle.

    • The game will run at triple speed until you press Tab again or release the trigger.

  • TURBO FAST

    • Press the F4 key to disable the framerate cap, then hold Triangle.

    • The game will run as fast as your CPU can handle (can be quadruple speed or more) until you press F4 again.

PS2 Hardware/Software

Can I use P3F CEP on my PS2 console?

Sorry, no. Our focus is on PC emulation because it's much easier to set up and customize.

Where can I get a PS2 BIOS?

You'll need to dump it from your PS2 console.

You can dump a PS2 BIOS from a PS3 firmware file (no console required), but we can't guarantee this will work as the BIOS file is not North American.

Where can I get a copy of Persona 3 FES?

You'll need to dump it from your PC's DVD drive.

Miscellaneous

How do I copy my P3F CEP setup to another computer?

Just copy your P3F Mods and Aemulus folders to the new computer.
